Here are a few more reasons why I'm excited about Mexico!!
8. Since I can remember I've always wanted to be a missionary. I think I can even show you a questionnaire I filled out in 6th grade that proves I've wanted to do this all my life. Of course, during high school and college as I started making real life choices for myself, I put being a missionary on the back part of my brain to concentrate on a real career that I would spend the rest of my life doing. It's just so funny how God works because before I left for Oklahoma Christian University, my plan was to spend four years getting a basic English Bachelor's Degree, come back to Grand Prairie and apply to the police academy. After a year or so, I focused solely on my Family Studies major, and didn't really have a plan post-graduation. My junior year of college I took a spring break campaign to Piedras Negras. I guess you could say I fell in love. Since then God has been working on my heart to follow Him on this path towards mission work. It's heartwarming to know that all along, God's had this in store for me. Something I desired so much as a child is becoming a reality. It's going to be an awesome experience for me!

Churro stands, Pan Dulce, Carne Guisada, Frijoles y arroz (rice and beans), tacos de pollo, tres leche cake, lemonada fresca, Magnum bars, watermelon drinks, hot corn on the cob, fresh homemade corn tortillas, bottled sodas, Bimbo snacks, chicharrones, tamales, enchiladas, salsa, spanish ice cream, horchata, baked pumpkin seeds, sopas, carne asada, y mucho mas!

To cut down on cost of living, my supervisor has opened his home up to me while I am down there. I'm excited about getting to live with them and experience Mexican life first hand! For now, I call them my host family, but hopefully after a while I will consider them as close family just as I do with my own blood relatives. I look forward to grocery shopping with my "host mom" and maybe having sleepovers, devos, and playtime with my "host sisters." My supervisor, Josue, has told me that while I am living with them, I am to teach his wife and daughters English, while they help me with my Spanish. I'm excited to be able to help them out in such an important way, and I know that after two years in Mexico my spanish will drastically improve!
THIS IS JUST SO EXCITING! (to be continued...)
AHHH! i'm getting more and more pumped for you!!! i can't wait to see more of your list!!
