(50) Days of Piedras

We had a study this morning with a man down the road from my house. He owns quite a chunk of land but is very poor. He has a little store with misc items that I assume provide for his income. What a character he is! Cracking jokes about his old age, doing chest pumps to prove his strength, and singing to us some of his favorite songs. It was a good study, too! DoƱ Guillermo told us he wants to study more because he wants to get baptized. We (Sarai, Karina, Hector, Diego, and myself) have decided to meet with him every Thursday morning at 10:30. I am so very excited to see what God will do in this area of our evangelizing ministry.

Also, I thank the Lord for Sarai. She came to me last night and asked me how I was really doing. We didn't get to finish our conversation until today, but what a blessing it was that she was willing to hear about things going on in my heart. I shared with her everything- my frustrations with some of the ways of the church, how much I really miss my family and friends, and how I am trying to guard my heart and make it only beat for God. We have really Become close friends. And it was just so nice to vent or get things out there in words. And of course, another reminder of how much of a blessing it is for me to be here. Sarai told me before I left, "I love you more than you'll ever know." Yo, tambien, Sarai. Yo, tambien.

Be strong in the Lord,
Rachel
