It is freezing inside our house. We've had cool weather the past few weeks, so thank God for fresh weather! I'm going to enjoy this fresh climate as long as I can, because I've heard horror stories about the summer heat!

I've come across a few frustrating moments lately. They are based around cultural and religious differences, so please pray for me in this area. I am glad for the frustrations, because I am digging into the Word for answers, but still pray for my "impatient" and "confused" moments.

I tried baking a dessert again yesterday. It actually turned out marvelous. I still don't have everything I need (like measuring cups, or the right baking pans), but my host family just gobbled it right up. If you're looking for something fun to send me -- muffin, brownie, or cake mixes are really great thing to send!

The new Starbucks opens this weekend. I am way pumped about this! I believe we have a youth conference this weekend so hopefully during some down time we can take a quick trip to get an iced mocha or latte!

I've also recently discovered that my predicted monthly income is different than my actual income. I am now in need of $200 more every month -- giving me about $4000-$5000 needed for the rest of my time here. If you are interested in supporting me financially, feel free to call me @ 972-965-6866 or email me at: almanza.rachel@gmail.com

I leave you with a few scriptures that are part of my weekly meditation:
Psalm 89:
Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD, a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him? O LORD God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O LORD, with your faithfulness all around you? You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them. You crushed Rahab like a carcass; you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm. The heaves are yours; the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it, you have founded them.
Be Strong in the Lord,
Rachel
