I found it ironic today (Friday) that I found myself lost on the American side of the border today rather than the Mexican side. I took a trip to Eagle Pass this morning to mail off about 45 envelopes with my magnets in them. I probably have about 20 more to mail off, but just had enough American dollars with me to pay for 45 stamps. Hopefully I'll get the other 20 or so sent out soon.
It costs about $5 to cross the border (going out and going in) and so I decided to wander around town for a while so I'd feel like I used my $5 worth. I'm so glad I did because within a couple miles of the post office was a Sonic! Did I do a little "yippee" dance in the car? Yes. Am I ashamed? No. When I pulled up to the window I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted. Did I want a standard Diet Coke with Lime? Did I want a Java chiller? Did I want the classic Sonic cherry limemade? I actually wanted all three but restrained myself. I finally decided on a strawberry limemade and some cheesesticks. I knew that what I was about to eat was going to really upset my stomach (since I've had PURE Mexican food for three months) but I didn't care- because this was Sonic and I hadn't had it in months. I then walked off the cheesesticks by window shopping in the mall. It was a really good "alone" time that I needed for myself.

This past weekend was full of activities- I was barely home at all! I'll be sure to update more tomorrow on all that's been going on.
Be strong in the Lord,
Rachel
