Eagle Pass

I took the girls to Eagle Pass tonight. We had such a fun time -- which is exactly what I was looking for this entire week. We have ladies bible study on Friday's at 5pm, so afterwards we took our passports and headed for Eagle Pass. It was a packed bridge! We spent some time at the mall and Wal-Mart, and then ended the night with a wonderful meal at Wendy's. (hehe... the wonderful meal was meant to be a joke)

My host family took a weekend trip to a town called Monclova, which is about 3 hours away from Piedras. I had planned on going with them, but opted out to stay and wait for my aunt and uncle who are passing through to pick me up to take me to Monterrey. I have family down there whom I haven't seen in almost 6 years. I figured it would be good for me to take these few days with family.

We have many activities going on this month in December. Get ready for a jam-packed newsletter at the end of the month! In case you didn't know, the church here does NOT celebrate Christmas. It's been hard on me to get used to this -- because there are so many Christmas decorations up around town that I can't get excited about publicly - but I am slowly accepting this cultural difference. Thank you to all who sent, are sending, or will send me packages this month for Christmas. I'll be celebrating alone in my room on December 25th -- don't find that sad... I'm pretty excited!
