I spent the entire weekend with Karina and Sarai. It was nice to have some girl time, but I was definitely ready to be back in the comforts of my room on Tuesday. Sarai's boyfriend came to visit for a couple weeks at the beginning of January, and she is now an engaged woman! Congrats for her, right? Yes, we are all so excited about her engagement and all the planning we'll be doing. Sarai has asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, too! I am very honored that she asked me to be a part of her wedding and everything in between. Karina, Sarai and I did some wedding stuff this past weekend, and had some fun hanging out. We had a little girl's sleepover on Sunday night, which is one of the highlights of my time here in Mexico. We watched some chick flicks, played cards, and talked about boys. I'm surprised we didn't pull out the avocado face masks, but I guess we'll save that for another time. :) I taught the girls this game called SNAPS. It's very hard to explain, and not a lot of fun if everyone knows how to play, so I won't explain it fully - but it's a group word game involving... Snaps. Anyway, I taught it to them at our sleepover and came up with some fun ways to make the game interesting. I also taught Karina the guessing game that I learned out at Camp Blue Haven. For those of you who are confused... well, maybe one day you'll get to play those games with me. There are some of you out there who know exactly what game I'm talking about. :D
I took some of the youth kids from Gonzalez to the movies last night. We saw Law Abiding Citizen, and it was kind of freaky. Just a normal suspense movie, but with lots of action. I enjoyed going to the movies back in the States and enjoy going to the movies here in Mexico even more. Mostly because everything is so much cheaper here. For $5-$8 I can buy a movie ticket, popcorn, and a soda. Sounds awesome, right? Yes. Yes it is. I think some of the kids mentioned making Wednesday night movies a reoccurring thing, and so I'm looking forward to hanging out with them next week.
Not too much information in this blog post, but just some information on what's been going on with me lately over here in Mexico. I'm praying for all of you.
Be strong in the Lord,
Rachel
